Mission Statement The Päck has lead Emerald Dream in quality role-playing since 2011. To this day we stand as a beacon to new and old role-players, recognized for our creativity, quality, and positive attitudes. It is our mission to continue to do so to better the role-playing community. To achieve this we require all members of this guild to read, acknowledge, and follow the rules listed below. Once you have read this Code of Conduct, acknowledge that you have read and agree to follow below.
The first and foremost rule of the Päck is to respect all fellow guild members, by treating them the way you would wish to be treated.
We ask of all members, if you witness any form of misconduct or rule violations by your fellow Päck members, PLEASE SCREENSHOT THE OFFENSE and contact a Sentinal, Beta, or Elder.
I. Conduct within the Guild At all times in guild chat, officer chat, and any raid or party chats for guild events, you are expected to conduct yourself in a respectable manner. This includes but is not limited to:No insulting of another member (general camaraderie is acceptable)
No excessive swearing
No unwanted sexual innuendo or discussion
No discussion of real life violence, illegal actions, and other potentially disturbing topics
No discussions about rape or any form of sexual assault
No political or religious discussions
Please remember that this guild is built for mature players. Chat will contain adult language and subject matter. However, as we do allow people less than eighteen years of age, we do ask that all members limit adult discussions to a minimum before 10pm server time.
Real life name
Phone number, email address, skype information, or any other method of communication
Location information such as the address, city, or even state in which the player lives
Birthdays, anniversaries, or any other celebrations
Information on real life friends or relatives
Embarrassing life stories
We also ask that all members be aware of what personal information you disclose to the guild.
Excessive drama will not be tolerated among guild members. We ask that any conflicts both in-game or in real life be handled respectfully and privately between members. We also ask that guild members keep their real life drama from entering the guild. We cannot kick, demote, or punish in any way, someone who may have committed a personal offense to you outside of the game. This includes, but is not limited to relationship drama. We WILL NOT remove any significant others based on real life conflicts.
We are an active guild, as such we will remove from our roster any character that has not logged in for thirty days unless some form of notice has been given. If you are leaving the game temporarily for outside game reasons you may let an officer know and we will put in your note, and your characters will not be removed. Alts of active members that have not been logged in on are subject to removal as well.
II. Personal Conduct in Public As a leading role-playing guild we expect all members to compose themselves in a respectable manner around other players and in public chats (Trade, General, LocalDefense, LookingForGroup, or any other) This means that there is no:
Excessive OOC chatting around role-players
Use of in-game toys, size/shape changing items, gear altering items, that cannot be justified OOCily
Excessive yelling, both ICIly and OOCily
Under No circumstances do we "feed the trolls." Trolls (not the in-game race) are to be ignored. Do not attempt to argue, reason, assist, or insult trolls in any way. We highly encourage that you place anyone trolling on your ignore list.
We of the Päck are a proud PVP guild as well as RP. It is our policy that all PVP be done in a respectable manner, therefore win or lose there is to be no tea bagging or excessive use of negative emotes such as /spit. A single emote is fine and fits well in character against an opponent, but more than one is disrespectful to your fellow players.
III. Role-Playing Policies We expect the best from our role-players and take pride in presenting quality and creativity. As a guild, the Päck strictly follows all lore written and created by Blizzard Entertainment for the World of Warcraft. We leave much of your role-playing story and style up to individual players, we simply ask that you be:
Knowledgeable on lore that pertains to the subject matter to your role-play
Patient with your fellow role-players. Some prefer to RP in long paragraphs, that take time to write, others will write in shorter statements
Aware of standard rules on godmoding, metagaming, and the use of OOC brackets
Courteous and non-intrusive to the RP of others. Never assume that you are invited to join in another’s RP, it never hurts to ask in a whisper OOCily.
Godmoding (God Mode Ing) occurs when a player uses their RP either in say or emotes to control other players without their permission, or the lore of the game itself. This means that you cannot control how other players will react to your role-play and you cannot expect them to follow your plan.
Metagaming is the use of knowledge obtained OOCily in your In Character role-playing. If you are told in a conversation outside of role-play that a character is pregnant, you cannot have your character suddenly know or sense it. This includes knowledge of other characters histories and names that you have not been ICily informed of.
While we will always encourage the growth of your character, and we are always excited for casual RP to bring out your character, we ask that you not divert others RP to be about your character. We understand that there is a lot of lore and rules to this world, and mistakes will be made. We encourage all members to be able to both politely give and receive criticism of role-playing. Should you require help with anything RP or Lore related, please ask anyone in Guild Chat, we will not shame questions.
However, failure to follow the rules of role-playing for both the Päck and Emerald Dream AFTER being informed and educated will result in disciplinary action. Trolling others RP is grounds for immediate removal from the guild. IV. Event Policies The Päck hosts a variety of events each week in order to maintain a fun and active atmosphere for our members. We encourage all members to plan events to better the guild for themselves and others. We ask that you observe and follow these courtesies
Always respect the event leader. Do not attempt to take over or “hijack” and event that is not yours without the event creator’s permission. Always listen to and follow instructions given by the event leader
Please sign up for all events ahead of time. This helps the event creator greatly by making it easier to plan for the event based on numbers
If you sign up for an event, please be there, if you are not sure, do not be afraid to sign up as tentative
If the event says Ventrilo is required, it is required. If you are unable to be in vent and listen (meaning not just signed in and afk or on the phone) the event leader has the power to remove you from the event
The event leader has the right to set and enforce any level or gear requirements needed. We are also a PVP guild, and many times full PVP gear will be required. Even our PVE events may have a minimum iLevel or other gear requirement.
It is the official policy of the Päck that we must try to make all events scheduled happen. We understand that events outside of the game can arise, preventing event leaders from attending their own events. In that time the Beta team will do their best to carry out your event without you.
V. Forum Policies We highly encourage all members to actively participate in the Emerald Dream forums. It excites us to see our members succeed at creating server wide events, contributing to the community, and posting their RP stories. We ask only that you represent the guild well by being courteous and following the rules of the Päck and Blizzard Entertainment. Also, remember to upvote your fellow guild members when you read one of our posts that you enjoyed. VI. Guild Bank and Repairs The Guild Bank is there to assist all of our members who may need it. Feel free to access everything that you need, but please do not take any more than what you absolutely need. All contributions to the guild bank are greatly appreciated.
We appreciate our members hard work and dedication, as such, we offer guild repairs to anyone promoted above the Pup rank. It is limited, but the amount increases with rank. Feel free to use it whenever needed.
VII. Alt Policies The Päck understands that in order to experience the full game of World of Warcraft, our members will have alts, or may even be alts from other servers or guilds. There are no rules against having alts in other guilds or even in the Horde. If your character(s) in the Päck are alts we are happy to have you, however it will take dedication if you wish to climb the ranks.
If you are a Guild Master, Co-Guild Master, or officer of another guild, we ask that you remember that your title, rank, and status do not transfer to the Päck. You will be required to attend events and contribute to the guild in order to climb the ranks.
We also must ask that you refrain from recruiting from within the Päck, even if it is encouraging non-worgen alts to join your guild. We will also not tolerate the poaching of potential new members. This means that when someone asks for information on the Päck, you must help by directing them to either our website or a Beta, Beta Senior or Elder. Directing them towards your guild instead will be grounds for immediate removal from the guild.
All members who have an affiliation with the horde guild Warsong Batallion are subject to extra scrutiny during the application process. This can go as far as denial of the application. Most instances a special note will be made for that member so the officer team can watch for any suspicious activity, mainly the sharing of location information of our guild events with WSB.
VIII. Ventrilo Policies Ventrilo or Vent is a voice communication software that uses very low RAM and is easy to set-up. We do not require having Vent to join the guild, however most of our events to require having it to attend. If you do not have Vent installed on your computer and ready to go at the start of the event, the event leader can start without you. Vent log-in information can befound in the Info tab for the Päck, in-game.
All guild rules for in-game apply to Ventrilo as well.
Please be respectful of all others in vent. If you are doing group activities that not everyone in vent is participating in, please move to an appropriate vent channel.
While in vent, if at any point Nymaway, an Officer, or the event leader says the words “clear vent,” everyone else must go silent. This is to ensure the best possible communication. Repeatedly talking over the person after being told to “clear vent” is grounds for removal from vent and possibly even the event.
Under no circumstances are you to create excessive noise in vent. This means screaming, squealing, shrieking, or any other unnecessary noise.
On certain occasions we will be invited into another guild’s Vent, Mumble, or TeamSpeak. We must ask you to be extra courteous when present as we are guests in their Vent. If you have to be told more than once to be quiet, you may be asked to leave. We also cannot prevent them from kicking you out should you fail to comply with both ours and their vent rules.
IX. Facebook Policies The Päck has an official Facebook page which we encourage all of our members to join and share any game related content. We only ask that you apply all Päck rules when posting.
Posting of materials that are offensive, disturbing, or related to religion/politics will be removed immediately.
There is also an Emerald Dreamers Facebook page. Please remember to conduct yourselves in a respectable manner. Forum rules apply to this Facebook page as well.
X. Sexual Misconduct and Erotic Role-Play In order to create a safe and comfortable environment for our members, we have an official policy for Sexual Misconduct and Erotic Role Playing.
The Päck will NOT tolerate sexual harassment in any shape or form. We encourage all members who feel that they have been harassed to immediately take a screenshot of the offence and report it to a Beta, Beta Senior, Elder, or even Nymaway herself. This applies at all times, including role-play situations. All parties involved must consent to any sexual actions done in RP.
Erotic Role Play is not forbidden, but if any member of the Päck is involved, it must be taken into an instance. We will not tolerate ERP being done anywhere where someone can find you and screenshot the offense. Any screenshots that are found of Päck members ERPing may be grounds for immediate removal from the guild.
Final Notes If at any point you act in a way that is deemed unacceptable, whether by the CoC, other guild members, or the Emerald Dream community, you can be reprimanded and even removed from the guild, regardless of whether or not your offense is listed in this Code of Conduct. Any and all reports are taken seriously and we will act based on screenshots provided and/or the reports we are given and their numbers.
Once again it must be stressed that it is very important to TAKE SCREENSHOTS of any offense that you witness your Päck members performing. We cannot act on a single person’s word without proof. If you are unsure if what you are witnessing violates any rules, please take screenshots anyway and a Beta, Beta Senior, or Elder will be happy to assist you.
All offenses are handled a case-by-case. Nymaway and the officer team will consider all offenses and the evidence presented carefully before taking action. We are very understanding of the fact that mistakes do happen and that people have a lapse of judgment, so do not be afraid that we will kick after one small mistake. We will act very swiftly, but we will be as fair as possible.
Thank-you for taking the time to read this. We look forward to see what you will contribute to the Päck! Alpha Nymaway and the Elder and Beta Council.
Note: Code of Conduct is subject to change at any time with notice.
I the one and only Batman completely agree and 100% cool with this. Thank you for allowing me back :D <3 FOR THE PACK!
